Dabber Herbicide Applicator Label Design

The bulk of my work is website development, webstore management and Google Ads management. When a print, label or packaging design project pops up it's always a nice change and challenge.

Arborgreen has sold Dabber Herbicide applicators for many years. The parts are imported and assembled into kits here in Australia, and for a long time they were supplied as plain white bottles in a labeled zip-lock bag. After some customer feedback and internal discussion we decided to design a label for the bottle. Firstly it had to be very cost effective as the dabber bottles are an inexpensive item thus labels and packaging can quickly become a large part of the product cost. Second and third, it had to be bright, partly as a warning label (the contents can be hazardous) and also they can easily be misplaced by the bush regen crews when out in the field; the bright yellow meets both of these criteria.

For efficiency and cost per label they are printed 3,000 at a time on high quality vinyl stock with UV cured ink offering a reasonable lifespan of 3+ years in the field. I used a typographic approach to the label design which stands out both visually and clearly labels what the item is. The small ‘v’ notches in the top and bottom black lines help the person applying the label center it on the bottle. If you are after Dabber Applicators, you can purchase them here.
